Fixed

  • Renaming a rhythm now updates its name in the sidebar and in the sidechain source list.

Improved

  • The reverb now has a Decay control. The default Hall tail is shorter than before, and older projects are converted to sound the same.
  • The 24 dB band-pass and notch filters now sit at the same level as their 12 dB versions, instead of being louder or quieter.

Fixed

  • Fixed the loudness of the Fold, Soft Clip and Hard Clip effects, and fixed the sidechain ducking, the Compressor and the 12 dB band-pass filter.
  • The rhythm ring no longer hops occasionally when a hit sounds. The ring now reads the step and its position within the step as one consistent reading.
  • Sample preview no longer reads the disk on the audio thread, so previewing a sample can't cause a click or dropout.
  • Loading a preset or host state from a different μ-series product is now refused with a clear message, instead of replacing your sound with the wrong data.

New

  • A Performance chooser (standalone): build, save, rename and delete lists of up to 8 presets and load one for Performance mode, from the Performances... entry at the bottom of the preset dropdown, or from the Perf button when no performance is chosen. (1597)
  • New Swap choice in the Master Loop pane: pick when a swapped-in preset takes effect, at the end of the Master loop or the Rhythm loop. It also adds a new automatable Swap parameter to the parameter list, so automation lanes in projects you saved before may line up one slot off. Please check them. (1596)
  • New Performance mode (standalone): the Perf button locks the screen for live use and shows a step indicator with your queued switches. Hold Perf for one second to leave it. (1328)
  • No more demo limits: every copy has all eight tracks, full step counts and preset saving, with or without a licence key. (1348)
  • The activation window has a Get a key button that opens the pay-what-you-like page. (1355)
  • μ-clid is now free to use, pay what you want. Copies without a licence key show a polite support message once per session (with a "don't show this again" option), a Support link in the status bar, and Support and Enter a key buttons in About. (1164, 1347)
  • A Pan knob in each rhythm's Amp section (the same pan as the mixer strip), and pan plus the Effect, Delay and Reverb sends can now be modulated. (1167, 1168)

  • Mixer faders now have a knob-style cap with a lit groove, instead of a small white dot. (1599)
  • The modulation depth and curve controls on the Matrix and the modulator editor now use the modulation colour. (1599)
  • The level meters in the plugin mixer are now stereo. (1595)
  • Knob labels stay put: they no longer show units and no longer change when you turn a knob (the status bar shows the value and units as you turn). (1526)
  • Settings now uses two columns, so every option fits on screen without cutting off. (1352)
  • Mixer and MIDI program-change lists lay out correctly when a banner is showing, and the master EQ and side-chain knobs no longer crowd their panels. (1356, 1357, 1358, 1359)
  • New Tap button in the transport bar (standalone): tap the beat to set the tempo. It shares its place with the MIDI clock lamp, so you see Tap on the internal clock and the lamp when following a MIDI clock. (1253)
  • New Nudge buttons (− and +) next to the position display (standalone): hold one to run the groove 4 % slower or faster and pull it back in time with a drifting master; let go and the tempo is exactly as set. Under an external MIDI clock the shift stays until the next Start. (1253)
  • New Sync offset in Settings (MIDI Clock section, shown when the clock source is MIDI In): enter your audio output latency (about 20–40 ms) and the app plays that much earlier, so it lands on the beat with a hardware master. Saved between sessions. (1253)
  • New Time signature choice in Settings (Transport): the position display counts in 2/4 to 12/8 instead of always 4/4. Patterns still run in four-beat bars. (1295)
  • Apps connected to μ-link now respond about twice as fast to Stop, mutes, knob moves and preset changes (about 85 ms behind instead of about 170 ms), and your MIDI keyboard feels the same shorter delay. (1256)
  • The BPM field now takes a tenth of a BPM (20.0–300.0, e.g. 127.5): the arrows step a whole BPM, Shift+click steps a tenth, and you can type a value. μ-link’s tempo control does the same. (1296)
  • MIDI clock sync in the standalone is much tighter: the beat now follows the external clock smoothly instead of in steps, so patterns and gates line up with a hardware master within a fraction of a millisecond (they could land up to a clock tick late, about 20 ms at 120 BPM, and wobble with the clock). The first clock after Start now counts as the downbeat, as the MIDI spec says. (1259)
  • μ-link slaved to an external MIDI clock now keeps its grid on the master’s downbeat instead of keeping whatever offset it started with and slowly creeping. (1257)
  • With μ-link connected, MIDI passing through μ-clid now still reaches your chosen MIDI out port (it was silent while connected), as it does when μ-link isn’t running. (1255)
  • MIDI clock sync in the standalone: a new “Clock” lamp in the transport bar shows whether the clock is coming in (amber = waiting, green = locked, red = lost). If the clock stops arriving while playing (a pulled cable, say) the app stops instead of running on, and carries on when the clock comes back. (1252)
  • The MIDI clock “Messages” choices are now named “Clock only”, “Transport only” and “Clock + Transport”. They work as before. (1291)
  • Presets that carry their samples inside them are now much smaller (often 40–60 %): the sample is stored losslessly compressed and comes back bit-for-bit identical. Older presets still load. (1248)
  • With μ-link connected, the standalone now hears your MIDI keyboard and controllers (it used to ignore MIDI while connected). For now there is a short delay of about a tenth of a second while connected. (1255)
  • In a DAW, the transport bar now counts bars and beats in the song’s time signature (3/4, 7/8 and so on) and lines up with pickup bars. (1251)
  • MIDI clock sync in the standalone now follows Song Position Pointer: when your hardware sequencer jumps to a new point and continues, the app continues from the same point. (1258)
  • μ-link’s MIDI clock output is now evenly spaced (it used to arrive in bursts) and also sends Start, Stop, Continue and song position, so outboard gear follows play, stop and rewind. Changing μ-link’s MIDI output while playing no longer resets the tempo or position. (1254, 1258)
  • In a DAW, the transport display (play button and bar position) now follows the DAW more reliably, including while the plugin is bypassed. (1243)
  • The plugin window uses less CPU: knobs, step editors and animations only redraw when something on screen actually changes, and hidden panels stop animating. (1242)
  • In a DAW, the DAW’s transport is now always in charge — μ-clid’s own Play button no longer starts it while the DAW is stopped. (1188)
  • With MIDI clock sync on in the standalone, the clock’s Start and Stop now control playback fully — its Stop stops the app even if you pressed Play. (1188)
  • Presets and saved projects now store each setting's real value (and choices by name), so a future update that changes a knob's range can't shift a saved sound. Older presets and projects still load as before. (1237)
  • Presets and projects saved with this test build won't open correctly in earlier builds — keep a copy if you go back to an older version. (1237)
  • The preset list and the Save dialog open faster, especially with lots of presets or presets that carry embedded samples. (1234)
  • The mixer page starts to take on the metal look: the channel strips and the effects rack sit on screwed metal panels, and each effect row is in its own raised box. The knob-size test knobs are gone. (1181, 1182)
  • Every knob on the main page is now μ-clid purple. (1178)
  • The effect-send modulation target is named after the mixer's current effect (e.g. "Phaser Send") instead of "Effect Send". (1174)
  • The sample display now matches the preset display above it (same strip, size and lettering), and the modulator display is taller (its target area is more compact). Clicking the sample display now works at the Large UI size too. (1171, 1173)
  • The modulation display now lights its steps and curve like the rhythm rings, and the sample name sits on a small LCD display. (1158, 1160)
  • The rhythm list spreads evenly down the left panel, and "+ Rhythm" and "+ Target" now look like proper buttons ("+ Target" no longer spans the full width). (1154, 1155)
  • The pattern logic selector now shows the standard logic symbols (A ∨ B, A ∧ B, A ⊕ B, A∧¬B, B∧¬A); the status bar spells each one out. (1153)
  • The panels are now held on with small cross-head screws, and the Pitch, Filter, Amp and Effects sections each sit in their own raised box. (1148, 1149, 1150, 1151, 1161)
  • New colours: the panels look like purple paint on brushed metal (darker and less glowing), and each rhythm has its own colour that lights its sidebar icon, its name and its preset selector. (1147)
  • Modulation targets are shown one at a time, stepped through with up/down arrows; the effects section is now labelled "Effects". (1117)
  • Every dropdown now has the LCD look, labels are engraved into the metal, and the Pitch / Filter / Amp / Insert headings are name plates. (1116)
  • The modulation dropdowns now match the LCD tabs, and the redundant "Mod A" name is gone from the modulation header. (1115)
  • The modulation tabs (A–H, Matrix) now look like small LCD displays, the selected one lit up. (1114)
  • The rhythm list and the modulation section now share the brushed-metal look, with each rhythm and each modulation area in its own raised box. (1113)
  • Empty ring steps are now fully dark, and panel borders look like paint on the metal. (1112)
  • The Euclid A, Euclid B and Accent rows are now named by small engraved plates, and the rows and boxes are evenly spaced. (1111)

  • The rhythm ring now has depth — recessed grooves, curved shading, light from the top right and a soft glow on hits — to match the knobs. (1103)
  • Insert Start now shows the actual step the insert begins on, counting from 1 — so with a Pre Pad of 4 it starts at step 5. (1094)
  • Panels now use μ-clid's purple with a soft tint and a gentle highlight in the top-right corner; each rhythm's own colour now outlines its preset bar. (1099, 1100)
  • The Effect, Delay and Reverb send knobs have moved from the Amp panel into the Insert panel, beside the insert type dropdown. (1097)
  • The Pitch envelope Depth knob now sits above Release, making the Pitch panel narrower. (1096)
  • Stepped knobs now show one tick per position around the dial, so you can see how many settings they have.

Fixed

  • In CLAP hosts, the plug-in’s parameters now refresh correctly after a preset or session loads. (1590)
  • Fixed a hang when the plugin was unloaded, and a knob whose range shrank to nothing (for example an insert with no room to move) no longer trips a warning in test builds. (1322)
  • A staged per-rhythm hot-swap now commits at the end of the rhythm's own loop when no Master Loop is set (it previously never took effect with the default settings). (1510)
  • A one-step rhythm now keeps sounding instead of playing once and going silent. (1475)
  • Deleting or re-ordering rhythms (μ-clid) or voices (μ-tant) no longer leaves a channel ducking from the wrong one: sidechain sources now follow their rhythm / voice, and a channel that ducked from a deleted one stops ducking. (1308)
  • MIDI clock sync in the standalone: with Messages set to “Clock only” the Play button now starts the app (it used to stay stopped), and with “Transport only” the app now plays at its own BPM instead of sitting on the first step. (1261)
  • Under MIDI clock, many steps used to play a fraction late (one clock tick, about 20 ms at 120 BPM); they now land exactly on time. (1260)
  • Loading a rhythm preset saved before some settings existed now puts those settings to their defaults, instead of keeping the previous rhythm's values. (1237)
  • When following external MIDI clock, the tempo is now right from the first beat after Start — it used to run fast (or at the previous tempo) for about a beat. (1232)
  • If a preset can't be saved (for example a full disk or a read-only folder) you now get an error message instead of nothing, and an interrupted save can no longer leave a half-written preset. (1230)
  • New rhythms are named "Rhythm 2", "Rhythm 3" … instead of "_default". (1156)
  • Saving a rhythm preset whose name has a dot or a symbol (such as "Kick 1.5" or "A:B") now keeps the whole name. (1146)
  • Modulating Pre Pad, Post Pad or Insert Length now works like Hits and Rotate: 100% depth sweeps the knob across its whole current range, however many steps the ring has (Pre / Post Pad used to stop at 12). Existing presets are converted automatically so they sound the same. (1123, 1145)
  • The status bar now names insert-effect knobs after the chosen effect — "Compressor Threshold" rather than "Insert Threshold". (1101)
  • Pre Pad, Post Pad and Insert Length can no longer add up to more than the rhythm's steps — together they always leave at least one step for the pattern — and the insert always sits between the Pre Pad and Post Pad gaps. Pre Pad and Post Pad are no longer stuck at a maximum of 12 — they can now use any steps the rhythm has spare. (1093, 1095)

  • Trig/Leg and Poly/Mono are now slide switches in their own column beside the Euclid knobs, so they no longer look like padding controls. Flipping either explains the setting in the status bar. (1087)
  • The Logic dropdown now sits in the bottom-right corner of the rhythm circle (at the end of the controls row in μ-clid LITE), so Euclid A, Euclid B and Accent are evenly spaced. (1086, 1089)
  • The Pad / Mute toggles are now small slide switches beside their knobs, so the Pad and Insert knobs are now full size (the same as Steps, Hits and Rotate) and their labels are no longer cut off. Flipping a switch shows what that setting does in the status bar. (1084, 1090)
