An 8-track euclidean rhythm sequencer and sample trigger. Stack polyrhythms, sculpt patterns with boolean logic, and watch every beat orbit in real time.
Euclidean rhythms distribute K beats as evenly as possible across N steps — a mathematical pattern found in everything from West African drumming to Bulgarian folk music. μ-Clid puts this algorithm at the centre of your DAW, and goes deeper than any sequencer before it.
Each of your 8 rhythms is built from three independent euclidean sequences. Layers A and B interact through a logic gate (AND / OR / XOR / A Only / B Only) to produce the hit triggers. Layer C is dedicated to accenting those hits. All three can run at different lengths, generating polyrhythmic results that evolve over bars.
Every hit fires the sample voice engine — pitch, filter, and amplitude each with their own envelope, a choice of filter algorithms, and an insert effect slot. 8 modulation sources per rhythm (loop MSEG or stepped sequence) can target any parameter. Finally, all rhythms flow into a full mixer with per-channel sidechain, three send effects, and two master insert slots.
μ-Clid is built for producers who want to go beyond step sequencers and into genuinely generative territory.
Each rhythm runs three independent euclidean sequences. Layers A and B combine through a logic gate to produce hit triggers. Layer C accents those hits. All three can be different lengths, generating polyrhythmic patterns that evolve across bars.
Core EngineEach rhythm renders as a live donut ring — arc segments represent steps, active hits glow with colour. Euclid A, B, and the accent layer each occupy their own concentric ring. The sidebar shows all 8 rhythms at a glance.
VisualisationFive modes combine layers A and B: AND fires only where both layers hit, OR where either does, XOR where they don't overlap, or use A Only / B Only for a clean single layer. XOR in particular generates rhythms no human would programme.
Pattern LogicEvery hit fires a sample through a complete voice chain: pitch, filter, and amplitude each with a full ADSR envelope. Choose from multiple filter algorithms. A per-rhythm insert effect slot lets you sculpt or mangle the sound before the mixer.
Audio EngineEight modulators per rhythm — each runs as a looping MSEG or a stepped sequence. Route any modulator to any parameter across the voice chain. Stack multiple targets per source to build motion and variation into every sound.
ModulationAll rhythms flow into a full mixer with three send effects (Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, or Delay; plus dedicated Delay and Reverb channels) and two master insert slots. Every channel carries a sidechain input — any rhythm can duck any other.
MixingSwitch any rhythm out while the sequence is running — manually or via MIDI Program Change. Build sets that transform in real time without stopping playback.
Every mixer channel has its own sidechain input and control. Use your kick to duck the pad, the snare to pump the reverb — flexible ducking relationships across the whole mix.
Route each rhythm to its own output for processing in your DAW. Send individual channels to hardware, parallel chains, or external effects — full routing freedom.
From pattern ring to modulation matrix — every part of μ-Clid is designed to be read at a glance while you work.
